About Rudi

Rudi Skočir was born on 6th April 1951 at Kamno pri Kobaridu, Slovenia. In 1977 he graduated from the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts and specialised in painting with professors Janez Bernik, Štefan Planinc and Kiar Meško. • In 1996, 2013, 2017 and 2019 he continued his training at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. • He has had 150 solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad and participated in 277 group and extempore exhibitions, as well as meetings of artists in the country and abroad (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Italy, Austria, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Japan, etc.) • He has been awarded 22 prizes for his work. • Having achieved recognition as a painter, engraver and illustrator of books for young people and adults. • He has illustrated 60 literary works. • He works as a freelance artist, a member of the Association of Artists of the North Primorska region, a member of the Association of Artists of Slovenia and a member of its section of illustrators.
